A Little Bit of Lincolnshire Elves History

Long before the Romans had invaded England, or even man had come to live in the area the Elves had already been established with their magical domain in the Wolds. No one knows for how long they have been here, but they are the oldest inhabitants and have helped the people of Lincolnshire in many ways.

It is rumoured that it was because of the Elves that the County of Lincolnshire became named as Lincoln was to the Elves the name of their outer post Lindecollina, which the Romans carried on the name in order to appease the Elves and not upset them.

The magic domain of the Elves was later referred to as Elfinshire, by King Richard the Lion Heart, who was one of the few humans to have seen a part of the magical Elf domain, when he was helped by the Elves to hide there for his safety, but that is a story you will read later on as you will about the Lincolnshire Elves main village being called Tylea.
