Majority Of UK Motorists Revealed As In-Car Lovers

A new study reveals the UK is a nation of adventurous lovers as more than half of us admit we’ve had a bit of in-car nookie.
Car insurance specialist, elephant.co.uk, questioned 3,000 motorists about extracurricular activity in their cars and was surprised to find out that 56% admitted to having enjoyed some in-car love, with 58% of men admitting to being car Casanovas compared to 54% of women.
The back seat was the most popular location with 62% using it, however 6% admitted they’d used the boot!
Motorists in the South West proved to be the randiest in the UK with 61% admitting to being amorous behind the wheel, followed closely by Yorkshire and the Humber on 60% and the North East and East Midlands, both on 59%. At the other end of the scale Northern Irish motorists are at the bottom of the list on 48%, with Londoners just above on 49%.
elephant.co.uk managing director, Brian Martin, commented, "I was surprised to see so many people admit they’ve used their cars in this way. The results show people’s passion is a spur of the moment thing; it seems some people just can’t wait for the bedroom!"
But breaking out of the bedroom does have its risks with 17% admitting they have injured themselves while getting frisky in the car. Top of the injury list is a banged head, followed by a pulled muscle and bashed elbows/knees.

elephant.co.uk also asked what cars people think would be best to use and the VW Camper Van was the most popular by far. And it would seem if they don’t want the space of a Camper Van, they go for luxury as the Rolls Royce and Aston Martin are second and third in the list.

Martin continued, “It’s no surprise to see the VW Camper Van at the top of the list due to the space and comfort it provides, however, it is a surprise to see the snug Aston Martin on there. It’s no wonder people are injuring themselves if that’s where couples want to go.”
