New Online Auction For Motorists - Lincolnshire Magazine - LincsMag.com

An exciting new online auction is set to revolutionise the way people dispose of their old vehicles and put motorists in control of selling their car for scrap.

The market first has been launched by vehicle removal specialist Remove My Car and gives motorists the chance to put their car up for a real-time online auction where they’ll receive bids from Remove My Car’s competitive and reputable nationwide network of Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF)-registered car breakers and metal dealers. This auction process comes after they receive an instant online quote from Remove My Car. There’s also the option to donate proceeds of the entire quote towards the automotive charity BEN, which raises money from the scrap car industry through its Give a Scrap scheme. BEN has been providing vital support for those connected to the motor industry for over 100 years.

End of Life vehicles

The innovation puts motorists in control of the car recycling process for the first time and gives them the chance to receive the highest price for their End of Life vehicles (ELV). It will enable them to send their ELV to auction, while still having the option to accept the final figure from Remove My Car, making it not just free, but risk free too, unlike traditional auctions.

Remove My Car’s extensive ATF registered network has exclusive access to their own online profiles where they can access up-to-date, live updates on vehicles that have been sent to auction. This profile allows a wide range of specialised car breakers and competitive scrap metal dealers to view important information about ELVs and damaged or salvage cars sent to auction, and bid for the vehicle within 30 minutes, returning a fast final price for the car seller and providing motorists with the choice to accept the final price once the auction has ended.

The auction has been developed by Remove My Car as a solution to offering its customers the most accurate and competitive quote when they’re looking to dispose of all types of cars that are uneconomical to repair. It is seen as the best option available for motorists looking to fetch the highest price nationally for their ELVs and it is forecast that the auction could result in an average increase of 15% on quotes generated over time.

Steve Queen, Managing Director of Remove My Car, explains how the innovation will benefit motorists.

“Our online auction is a market first which allows motorists looking to dispose of any type of car that’s uneconomical to repair the chance to receive the best price in a quick, hassle-free and exciting way.

“For the first time ever motorists are being given more choice on how they sell their scrap vehicle and we’re really proud of that. We recognise that other online auctions are not always user friendly and can be expensive, time consuming and problematic. Our online auction is an ideal solution to a lot of these issues and puts motorists in control of vehicle disposal for the first time.”

“We’ve worked with our reputable network of ATF’s for a number of years and they’re fully behind the auction and excited to see how successful it will be. Motorists will benefit from a more competitive vehicle removal industry as they’ll receive higher quotes, and it’s our aim to ensure that happens.”
