The weekend of 18th and 19th March saw many of Lincolnshire's visitor attractions throw open their doors to welcome both residents and tourists. This annual celebration of the county's heritage and tourism gives attractions across Lincolnshire the opportunity to showcase themselves at a time of year that is traditionally quiet. This year many organisations offered free entry and some attractions such as Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre also included free refreshments on the day.

Discover Lincolnshire activities spread beyond local authority boundaries with attractions such as Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre in North East Lincolnshire also taking part.

In Lincoln City Centre, both Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle offered free entry and Lincoln Open Top Sightseeing Bus provided free tickets to passengers enabling them to see the city from another angle.

As well as showcasing our museums, two of the county's mills took part in Discover Lincolnshire Weekend. Cogglesford Watermill in Sleaford provided activities on both days and Heckington Windmill also offered free entrance. If you missed the opportunity to visit either of these two venues this time, both mills are signed up to National Mills Weekend which takes place in May each year.
