Rhodes That Lead To A Wedding

Lincolnshire is a great place to get married, but if you’re looking to tie the knot abroad, then one Lincolnshire lass believes she has the answer to helping create that dream wedding ... on the beautiful island of Rhodes.
Tracy-Ann O’Flynn has personally planned, co-ordinated, and managed over 200 weddings at many wonderful locations on the island of Rhodes. So why and how did Tracy-Ann end up planning weddings in Rhodes?
Tracy-Ann O’Flynn was born in Sleaford in July 1973 and left school in 1989 where she started her career as a YTS in travel and tourism as a travel agent with ‘Lunn Poly’ now known as ‘Thomson Holidays,’ working in the Sleaford and Lincoln branches for many years.
Holiday Representative
She then ventured abroad as an overseas holiday representative for ‘First Choice/Thomson Holidays.’ As an overseas holiday representative, she worked in various countries, of Crete, Kos, Rhodes, Mainland Spain, Cyprus and Mexico.
But it was in 1997 that she was to arrive on the picturesque island of Rhodes, falling in love with its beauty immediately.
Tracy-Ann continued to travel many more years, as a holiday representative and also as a backpacker, to countries such as Eqypt, Thailand, Seychelles, Australia and New Zealand.
So did she now desert good old Lincolnshire? Of course not, as she says, “I did then return to Lincolnshire in 2002, believing I needed to settle down. I worked as a Holiday shop manager, back to my routes at ‘Thomson Holidays’ and then following a new path as a personal banker at ‘Barclays Bank’.”
Destiny Rhodes
So how has she ended up in Rhodes?
“Although I was happy in both these roles, I always felt there was something more for me. I believed Rhodes was my destiny. So in 2008 my husband, a ‘PADI’ scuba diving instructor, and I emigrated to this wonderful island.” Said Tracy-Ann.
On Rhodes, Tracy-Ann O’Flynn lives close to Lindos and is one of the most photographed places in Europe. She soon realised it is one of the most popular destinations for weddings, being in the top three places in the world for the British to marry abroad, obviously due to its stunning location and wonderful weather.
This was what she had been looking for, and for the last 3 years has worked as a senior wedding co-ordinator for another independent wedding planning company on Rhodes.
As her reputation for being one of the best wedding co-ordinators on the island has grown, she realised more and more that she wanted to establish her own company, so by injecting her personal experience and energy she created “Rhodes Wedding Wishes.”
Well they say you can take the lass out of Lincolnshire, but you can’t take Lincolnshire out of the lass and that’s so with Tracy-Ann who shows she is still faithful to the county.
Special Memories
As she explained to LincsMag, "With my new company, I wish to promote it within the county where I was born, grew up, lived and worked, and where I come back to twice a year for my holidays. My family all live in the county of Lincolnshire too, so its a natural place to have my business registered and to support.
"Lincolnshire to me, holds so many special memories. I truly believe I am the most happiest with wedding couples from my home county, having a common interest from the beginning. I also feel that the couples have much more trust in me too, to know I am from their home county of Lincolnshire.
"I also hope to help and support other local Lincolnshire businesses. Couples will ask where to buy wedding stationary, wedding attire, wedding jewellery, wedding favours etc, before coming out to Rhodes. They will also hold their wedding receptions back in Lincolnshire on their return from Rhodes. It would be great to support each other."
And Tracy-Ann concluded, "This is my new UK company, registered in Lincoln, and I’m thrilled to introduce to you, my own independent wedding planning company, 'Rhodes Wedding Wishes Ltd.'"
