The Unfamiliar

The changes we face. The uncontrollable urges to steer our paths in the opposite direction from what is in front of us.
Some, are given the necessary advice for navigating the crossroads of life. Others, create new vices during the fight for survival. Each, endure strenuous situations and much has to be overcome.
When or minds are irrational, and our reality is abandoned, the search for our life truly begins.
When there is no one else to blame and our truth is shown, the fear sets in. Desperately wanting an understanding. Vigorously seeking acceptance of ourselves.
The Unfamiliar
We fear what we can not change.
The tools given to navigate
the winding paths of our lives,
are seldom sensible.
Knowing of the freedom from the fall.
Fingers release their grip,
relinquishing what holds back.
Wondering of what landing is to come.
Alone.
And still, the leap is made.
Stripped from all that had become,
sober from the poison once inflicted,
forgiving of all wrong doing.
A new sense of self emerges.
What was only the begining
and what is still to come,
collide.
And the unfamiliarity,
embraced.
