Love is one, if not the greatest, gift given to the human race and I have always been an incurable romantic, smitten by a pretty face, twinkling eye and suggestive smile.
Needless to say I love being in the presence of a pretty woman (what man doesn't?), but at the end of the day it is always that one special woman that will stand out from all the rest and capture your heart.
As Dean Martin sang ... “you can’t love them all!”
Besides I have always liked to write things down in rhyme (or at least tried to), so as it’s this time of the year, though I didn’t write them for any specific day, here are two of my old poems that were written by me at different times and from different parts of the world. I trust you enjoy them.
All Your Love Means The World To Me
All your love means the world to me,
For my darling, I know this will always be.
In the shadows of time, that float on by
Let us with our love, to each other never lie
Because ours is a special gift, held by only a few
And it is our bond of love that will always hold true.
As the planets turn and the stars shine,
I will always be yours and you will always be mine.
My Friend Said That I Would Be Good For You
My friend said that I would be good for you,
And help ensure that your sad days are few.
Together we would walk along sunlit paths,
And share the humour and the laughs.
Hand in hand, arm in arm,
Together we would share the rough and the calm.
Your lips and mine would never part,
For our love would come from the heart.
You are mine and I am yours,
And this, my darling, is the only true cause.
Our children I know, will be happy and true,
For they will have a part of me and a part of you.
Take my hand and never let go,
Throughout all the highs and the low.
For my love, when all is said and done,
You and I will always be as one!
