Looking After Cats - Page 4
Litter Tray & Bedding
Every household cat should have a litter tray, on no account
should sawdust be used.
If the litter tray is always kept in one spot and cleaned every day there will be no trouble
over the cat's manners in the house. Even young kittens very soon learn house manners in this way.
The cat should have a basket or box for a bed: it should have sides to it to protect the cat from
draught.
The bedding can be fine wood shavings, or wood wool, or paper without any printing on it.
Some times the cat may lick her bed and if newspapers are used she may make herself ill by licking
off the ink.
Some people put a couple of small blankets into the cat's bed; the blankets, of course,
must be washed once a week, and should not t be returned to the bed until they are quite dry.
There are of course special beds and blankets, litter trays and toys etc that you can buy today
and a good pet store should be able to provide you with every thing you need.
